Honey Bees

Honey Bees are amazing creatures.  Not only are they responsible for pollinating a large percentage of our fruit and vegetable crops, they are the only insects that actually produce food that we eat.  There are many types of bees but the honey bee is the only social bee living in colonies with close to 50,000 other bees in each hive.  Catch a close up of them working in their hives.  Check out Farmer Jim as he dresses up like a bee.

Eggs

There are many breeds of chickens and laying hens are a whole lot different than breeds raised for roasting.  They’re the skinny minis who never gain an ounce all their life whereas the roasting chickens just keep gaining.  Different breeds, different body types, different personalities, different purposes.

How many of you like to eat eggs?  How you like to eat them—scrambled, fried, hard boiled, omelette??  Follow the journey of your eggs from chick to hen and from the farm to your table.
