Farm School

An on-farm outdoor educational program designed for children ages 5 to 10 years old who are being home-schooled or are in an alternative school system. 

Join us Thursdays for a 5 week session of active exploration and learning on the farm through hands on, inquiry based activities led by our certified teachers.

All activities are seasonally themed and focus on connecting the children to the farm and where their food comes from. Along with plant focused activities each lesson will include a visit with the farm animals, a wagon ride around our fields to observe how the change of the season affects the farm and of course some time to play with their peers in our Barnyard Adventure Playground.

Cover objectives outlined in the Ontario Health and Physical Education, Science and Technology and Language curriculum. One week we could be learning about animals and our crops while the next week we take a closer look at the soil. There are many habitats on the farm - fields, barns, forest and meadows - that provide ample opportunity to explore nature and agriculture.

Attending families are welcome to pack a litter-less lunch and enjoy a farm picnic as well as stay and play in our Barnyard Adventure Playground.

To assist homeschooling families, we offer a Sibling Session for the younger siblings so our littlest farmers don’t miss out on all the fun!
Families with children under the age of 5 are invited to stay on the farm for a special Sibling Session while the older school aged children are off exploring and partaking in their own lessons. They will enjoy activities geared for their age and comprehension level.

Farming is a hot, cold, rain or shine lifestyle.  Our programs go rain or shine and activities are modified for weather conditions.  Dress for the weather and come out for some fun!

Sibling Session

(For children aged 2  - 5 years accompanying their older siblings who are attending the Farm School program)

$60.00 (HST included) /Child  Adult supervision is required in this program due to the young age of the children.
