It's also about that time to start thinking about Thanksgiving -  it's just around the bend! Forsythe Family Farms 2009 Inc has naturally raised turkeys right on the farm. Take the stress out of your Thanksgiving planning - order your turkey today! You can visit this link for more information: http://forsythefamilyfarms.com/naturally-raised-meats/ The farm market is also a go-to place to find the freshest local produce to serve your friends and family a healthy and delicious holiday meal!

Forsythe Family Farms 2009 Inc already has a wonderful bounty of Fall crops. You will want to be sure to pick up some Gala apples, which are now available in the farm market. Gala butternut-1apples are vertically striped or mottled, and usually an orange-ish colour. Gala apples are sweet,  aromatic and can be enjoyed on their own, cooked, or added to salads . The first Gala apple tree was one of many seedlings that resulted from a cross between a Golden Delicious and a Kidd's Orange Red planted in New Zealand in the 1930's.

Also in the market now is butternut squash. This variety has a has a sweet, nutty taste similar to pumpkin. It is enjoyed roasted, toasted, in soups, or mashed and used in casseroles, breads, and muffins.

Not only are Gala apples or butternut squash delicious on their own, but together they are an unbelievable combination! I want to recommend this recipe for an appetizing Butternut Squash and Apple Soup: Click HERE

Enjoy a walk through the trails. Relax in the fresh air and get some exercise in the cool Fall air - Wagon rides out to the trails are available every weekend 11am - 3pm.
